Where to Go Snorkeling on Kauai

Snorkeling is a great way to see what lies below the surface but isn’t as difficult as scuba diving. Every side of Kauai has excellent spots for snorkeling, but we’ve put together a list of the best of the best.

• Found on the South Shore, Poipu Beach Park is an ideal location for beginners. While the snorkeling area is small with a sandy bottom, there is a spot to the right with coral, fish, and maybe even a monk seal.
• Kee Beach on the North Shore is a prime snorkeling spot if the surf conditions allow it. There can be a strong rip current on the reef’s left side, so be cautious during your adventure. Also, be sure not to go outside the reef, as that area is for experts only.
• On the east side of the island is Lydgate Beach Park, which is an ideal spot if you’re trying this water activity for the first time. While there is no coral here, plenty of fish are still swimming near the outer rocks.
