But RYE LANE on HULU is full of surprises. The film features two young charismatic personalities in a very creative, thoroughly enjoyable entertainment. Each of them is trying to recover from a bad breakup when they first meet in a unisex bathroom in South London. RYE LANE is a delightful, very funny movie and it’s only a brisk 82 minutes long. The two actors (David Jonsson and Vivian Oparah) are great together and their film is everything a “feel good” movie should be.

A war between humans and Artificial Intelligence is at the center of a new science fiction movie called THE CREATOR. John David Washington co-stars with a child actor in a powerful science fiction thriller based on a great concept, namely that in the year 2065 AI simulated humans are morally and intellectually superior to real people. Director Gareth Edwards stirs up strong feelings in spite of his convoluted plot that left me jangled and somewhat confused. Like most sci fi movies about wars of the future, there’s too much fighting and too many explosions, but this filmmaker’s cinematography is is a cut above. And his ideas are provocative. Could it be that someday AI will create replicants who are committed to achieving world peace? (In theaters)
