In 1991 at the age of 29, the talented actor Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. Now he’s the star of new documentary called STILL: A MICHAEL J. FOX MOVIE on Apple TV. The tagline for this terrific documentary is “what happens when an incurable optimist meets an incurable disease.” The short answer is that Fox copes better than most of us could with the huge challenges he faces just to get through a single day. And this enjoyable movie shows that he’s still charming and funny and oh so likable. Directed by Oscar winner Davis Guggenheim and creatively edited by Michael Harte, the movie makes excellent use of clips from Michael’s TV and movie career plus cleverly made re-enactments to tell his real life story. It’s hard to see Michael struggle, but most of STILL is a real pleasure to watch. (Apple TV +)
